Recent Music Purchases
Here are some recent albums I've acquired and my brief thoughts.
- Nine Inch Nails - "The Downward Spiral" - As a ten-year anniversary special, NIN has re-released this classic album on SACD. I was in love with this album back in middle school and highschool. The SACD with its surround-sound mixes are definitely worth it.
- Rilo Kiley - "Live at Fingerprints" - Acoustic EP with tracks from "More Adventurous." Who doesn't like Rilo Kiley?
- Bright Eyes - "I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning" - This is one of two new Bright Eyes full lengths coming out in 2005. This is the more folkish one. Not great but still enjoyable.
- Bright Eyes - "Digital Ash In A Digital Urn" - The other Bright Eyes full length. More electronic and more rock-ish. I suppose this is my preferred flavor. As with any Bright Eyes, great lyrics, too.
- Rufus Wainwright - "Want Two" - Not as good as "Poses" or "Want One" but Rufus is still amazing. Anyone who enjoys poppy tunes with great vocals will enjoy this.
- Isis - "Panopticon" - The journey that started from "Oceanic" continues with this epic recording. Isis can't seem to miss these days.
- 65daysofstatic - "The Fall of Math" - Some say it's noise, but I sure like it.
